Default tire and wheel recommendations???

thinking of upgrading the tire/wheel on the SO's xB...the tires currently on it are undersized to the point that the speedo shows 55 when you are actually going 52...

so, I was looking at 17's...

these tires: http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/fin...d=008416&ar=45

and these wheels: http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/fin...8416&tc=ENKGF1

any input? good? bad? ugly? wear issues? handling issues? smooth or rough ride?

the xB is all stock with auto trans...mostly driven around town with occasional road trip of less than 400 miles...

EDIT...UPDATE...wheels and tires will be here tomorrow for install at the local Discount Tire...good thing as I plan to drive this car to Nashville TN Friday...

Kumho makes a really good inexpensive tire. 17's might be a bit rougher than the 15's but not much.

i will stand behind kumho til the day i die...i had a nissan hardbody that i lowered to the bumpstops which meant i had some bad negative camber and after 2 years driving they were still holding up nicely...i love kumho : )

I went from the stock 17's to 18's and couldn't be happier.

the toaster is dark blue...I really didnt like the miniscule tires that are on it when we got it...even though they are 15", the tires are very short...and ride like crap and you better NOT drive in the rain...LOL...

thanks all...looks like teh Discount tire credit card will get used soon.

The stock 15"ers are not the reason for the crappy ride. It's the stock rear shocks that make it so rough. Swap them out for some Monroe #5987s. They make a world of difference.
The 17's will make it worse than the 15's just to warn ya. So swap those shocks.

Wow, that size makes them 1.5 inches taller than the OEM tires. How much does it throw off the speedo?
