Wheels??? What size fits best????
Well, I opted not to get the factory wheels just because I didn't have the money yet, but I'd like to get some wheels and tires put on some time later. What's the best wheel/tire size combo out there for the Xb. I noticed the dealer out here in alaska only offered the 16" wheel package but in the magazines they had it showed some of them with 18" wheel packages. 18" seems really big to me for these little cars, can they really handle that size of wheel with a tire on them and not rub whenever you hit a decent sized bump. Also if anyone has any interesting links for Scion aftermarket parts let me know, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks
Rob

18's fit like cake. no work involved, just mount them and they wont rub, wont do ____ but spin like they are supposed to. if you think 18's are excessive, several people have 20's. now putting 20's on is a different case, you have to do some body work to make them fit. go with the 18's. trust me if you dont you will regret it later
sorry for the bad info, 18's will rub. it depends on the tires size. if you go with 35's you'll prolly be ok. 40's will rub though in the wells. 40's will give you a better ride...you may need to trim inside the wells. usually 35's you won't need to change. but they ride like solid rubber tires. look good, but rubber bands don't feel good.
Try "VictoriaTire.com". They have some good tire/wheel packages, and they're on the west coast.
Depending on the look you want, and whether your xB is lowered or not, will impact your decision. Lowering springs and 18s will greatly sacrifice ride quality. Up there in AK, I'd suggest leaving the ride height alone, and going with 16s or 17s, NOT 18s. 35-series profile tires are just too low on less than perfect roads. I'm sure you could find a good setup in a 16x7 or 17x7, with 50s or 45s. For your application, I wouldn't go any lower than 45s.
Good luck

Here's a link to some 15s:

Getting a set of 205/55s mounted and balanced shouldn't cost more than $400. 'Course if you got a package deal they'd be even less. I've been to Victoria Tire, actually bought some rims for a 2003 Dodge SRT-4 I used to own. It's down in the 'hood, but they pump out a lot of tire/wheel pkgs. I was watching them do it, and they're pretty thorough with mounting, balancing, and packaging them up for shipment.

I like the look of the 18's, and they don't rub at all with 35 series tires. After finding some road construction and replacing all 4 wheels
, I would suggest going with 17's instead. They put a little more rubber between the wheel and the road.
I have 20's on my hot lavawith a 42mm offset with 225/30ZR20 BFG KDWS if you want to see A XB with 20's go to your local big o tires and look at the new motegi racing catalog they have xa,xb,tc with 20's on it live in colorado
