Default 2006 ScionXB receiver

Hello everyone:
I an a new owner of a 2006 Scion XB, stick shift.

I bought this vehicle for several reasons.
1. The wide opening passenger door.
2. Low to the ground.
3. Stick shift so I can tow it behind a RV

My wife is 100% handicapped, (stroke) so I need to find a way to haul her electric wheel chair in a lift.
I can fold the push wheel chair up and stow in the rear of the car.

Is there such as a receiver advailable?
Thank you,
eddy

Default ScionXB receivers

Wow!
Thank you both for the speedy response.

Thank you for the links, but not what I had in mind. Using anyone of those methods, I have to remove the rear seats.

I was hoping that I could find a receiver at the rear of the car, and install a electric chair lift.
That way my wife could "drive" the wheel chair to the passenger door, I can place her in that seat and I would "drive" the wheel chair to the lift and secure it, lift the lift and get in drivers seat and drive where ever.

Thank you both.

There are lots of universal lifts out there. ie

There are a few xb drivers on the site who have done reese hitches for one reason or another. My only thought is you may have to beef up the rear suspension to handel all of the extra weight. I would consult someone who is an expert with these lifts and a Scion tech before following through.

before i came down from ny to florida i saw two xb's with wheel chairs on them... go to uhaul and buy a hitch mount and then you can fit a holder on the hitch for her wheel chair!

i would just fold down the back seats and put it in the back of the box! but i think the hitch would do you well!!!

I think this is what your looking for. But I am not sure how much weight could be loaded onto in. My uncle uses the same type of setup on his Cadillac, but his has a class 4 hitch. But the weight of his chair has caused issues on it. I am not sure if this little class 1 will work or not.

Default Receiver for 2006 ScionXB

Folks, you may have misunderstood me. I have the wheel chair lift. I have two wheel chairs, one electric, one a push fold up type. We can fold up the one and place it the car.
I am wanting to know if there is a receiver made for the the XB?
Thank you each for your replies.
Great bunch.

As the one poster said Uhaul does make a class 1 hitch and so does a couple of other companies, you can check out www.hitchworld.com for some info. You can also check out Trailer Hitches
