Default 2006 tail light question...

I tried searching the site first and didn't find anything.

I bought my xb last friday and had some upgrades added today one of which was supposed to be the euro tail lights. But when I arrived to pick the xb up, they put some trim piece on instead. When i questioned them they said that they no longer install or sell the euro tail lights for the 2006 model due to harnesses and fuses burning up. Does anyone else know about this? I demanded a refund and got it, but i don't want to install aftermarket ones and have a problem. I'm actualy thinking about just going with the black housing LED ones. Any help is appreciated!

This is a first I've ever heard of this. The TYC lights that the dealerships install as the dealer option lights are plug-and-play with the stock units.

I think the dealer for some reason was giving me the run around... but i wanted to make sure. I'm actualy thinking of picking these up instead:

or just getting the TYC dealer ones anyway. opinions?

I'm not a huge fan of those LED lights. To me they look very cheap and not very asthetically pleasing. Of all the aftermarket lights out there, I think the TYC lights look the best. I've always been against the whole "Altezza" ligth style, but the TYC lights look pretty swanky and they certainly look better than the OEM mid-90's style clear out tail lights.

lol whats funnt is when i got my RS 2.0 they installed the TYC's but they put some of the wiring from the bulbs behind the tails so now I cant even change out the bulbs! I would either have to go to the dealership to have them change them out OR take out the tails which i dont want to and fix the prob

Did you order the "euro" tail lights from Sparks Scion? Are they the same as the TYC tail lights? Did they come with the D.O.T legal card?

It said "euro" and they looked exactly like the TYC option. I should receive them tomorrow so I don't yet know if the legal card is in there.

Here is a link to the page.... http://trdsparks.com/displayparts.ph...4&parts_id=388

:edit: I just went onto Scion's website to build an xb and the TYC taillight option is called "euro" and is the same pic as the one on sparks.

Odd I have had the ebay kind on mine for the last year and a half with out any problems from wiring. Only way that this could pose a problem would be too high of a current draw. Easy solution, get resisted LED bulbs. Low draw, resisted so you dont have hyper blinkers. Problem solved.

That worst part is they tried to pull one over on you by putting a trim peice on instead. They should have told you the problem before you noticed it. Did they think they can charge you for the Euro lights and put some cheap trim peice on and get away with it? Thats horrible. . . frauds

Awesome. Let us know how the install goes and if you have any blown fuse issues.
