Default Another xb bodykit..

Well i am going to let out a little steam and let some of you out there know about a product. A couple of months ago i decided to get a bodykit not lipkit because of a fender bender with my front and back bumper. I decided on the octane kit from andy's autosport. They promised me that it would be shipped and delivered quickly. It didn't get shipped for a while and when i went to confirm they said that they had to make another mold and that they hadn't even shipped it yet. I finally got the kit and it looked good at first until we tried to do the mock up.. Nothing fits correctly nothing. The fenders don't follow the body lines, and the doors hit. The side skirts are to low and the doors will not shut because of the huge lip it has. The back bumper dosn't fit around the back lights among other things. So guys do yourself a favor and by a good kit because this one has put my box into a bodyshop now for two going on three weeks.

Yeah Andys Kits suck. I ordered one for my cavalier and we had to do some crazy modding to get it to fit right..

Ive heard several people complain about these fenders that look like that...they sell on ebay. So stay away from this kit.

Sorry to hear that, but I can't say that I'm suprised. I'd rather pay more for a high-quality kit than have to deal with the bs of fitment issues... not to mention surface imperfections that are so common in some of the knockoffs that you can get off of eBay.

I haven't seen the Octane kit, but I have seen some Fabulous knockoffs that look like s#&$. The front bumper in particular didn't even line up correctly with the fenders.

Peace,
m@

Yeah man sorry to hear about this. I also on a probe and there were tons of stories on Probetalk about Andy's Auto Sport. There were a few people that ordered intimidator kits and never even recieved them. I did see one of the kits and it didn't fit well at all. I figure people should stay away from AAS.

I've never heard anything good about andy's autosport. Their kits are wack.

News flash that i got today about my box when i stopped by the body shop. They have now had it for 2 weeks tom. And they only have one side skirt (majority reshaped and sized) and the back bumper (lots of fill). The front bumper had to be refiberglassed and the fenders were trashed except for the vents that they cut out and are reforming to an extra pair of fenders. So the kit is going on, but not quickly. They said that they would have it for another good week before it even goes to paint.

Thanks for the info and stuff guys i really appreciate it. I just wish that i would have posted about the kit and company before i had bought it.

sorry to hear of all your troubles. thank god we don't have andy's here in hawaii or they'd be out of business by now. we have eurosport (main US distributor for SSR's) and they do quality work. no complaints here.

the only complaint i have is they have too many options for me to choose from.

Can you guys who have had to pay for additional bodywork to get poor-quality bodykits to fit right post how much the extra work cost you...? I think a lot of people dive into the cheap bodykits thinking that they're getting good deals, only to find out when it's too late that there's usually a lot more $$ involved after the fact..

Well when i tried to contact them they asked how long ago i had purchased it because they have a 2 week return policy. Only thing was was that it took 3 weeks to get here so i was out of luck. Now that i have spoken with people it seems that everyone complains and nothing is done.

When the final price is given i will post it, but as of now they will still need my vehicle for a nother week which means i will have been driving a rental car (that sux) for a month.

Although the fenders now corrected they look good, and the back bumper fits the best, but the side skirts roll under the car now that the are mounted so i am going to mold it into the body, and almost a pound of extra non sense has been hacked from the front..
