Default Backup Light Problem

I bought an 06 XB in January and was unlucky enough to walk out of a grocery store about two weeks later to find that someone had hit me on the rear passenger side just enought to crack the taillight and cause some minor damage. I decided to go with some aftermarket clear taillights rather than the stock taillights. I switched the lights without problem but about a week later someone pointed out to me that my passenger side reverse light doesn't work.
I immediately switched bulbs assuming that that was the problem, but it wasn't. I have made sure that the metal connectors line up with the copper pieces that distribute power from the center light to the other two lights numerous times. I even went as far as pulling the plastic "power distributor" piece off of the stock taillight and putting it on the new taillight. I assume that it's not a problem with the brake switch because the driver side on works. I have no idea what to do next.
Any ideas?

I appreciate any help.

I bought some eBay tails and had the same problem. The problem was poor contact. I cleaned all the metal contacts, which did not help. Pulling out on the contact pad in the lights did.

I eventually went back to OE tails, candied on the inside.

Thanks for the help. I am not sure what the problem was, but took your advice about the bad contact. I ended up keeping the tail lights and just running 2 wires directly from the center light to the backup light. It works now, and while it's not the nice to look at, you obviously can't tell when the lights in. Anyways, I have two functioning backup lights, so thanks for the help.
