Default body kit vs. lip kit???

I hit a small curb, damaging the lower part of my stock ground effects. if i got a lip kit, would that replace that part of my front bumper or simply bolt on top of the cracked front bumper?? so my question that goes along with that is what is the difference between a body kit and a lip kit??

A lip kit will generally replace the front and rear lips (the pieces bolted/clipped to the bottom of the bumper covers) and the side skirts.

A body kit will replace the full front and rear bumpers (including the lips) and the side skirts usually. Occasionally, this will include fender flares which will require some body work to mold in and paint.

The choice is yours and it is a deeply personal one. I'm a lip kit man because I like the shape of my bumpers the way they are and don't view any of the kits I've seen as an improvement. But that's just my opinion and I don't expect you or anybody else to build your cars to my taste. That would be dumb.

Some lip kits allow me to retain the stock lines while adding a little something extra to help my car stand apart. That's what I like and that's what I'm doing to mine.

Hope that's helpful in your decision!

Also, if you plan on showing, a body kit will often put you into a higher class than a lipkit. At HIN, for instance, it was one of the differences between the Street and the Mild class. That can be good or bad...
