Default body rust

My 06 Xb is developing rust on the lower interior edge of the lift gate. It is not the result of stone chips. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggesgtions?

Rust? Already?? How long have you had your xB? It should still be under warranty if you haven't had it for long.

Take it to the DEALER immediately.

This should be a warranty issue.

I haven't heard of this yet, but there's always an exception.

They'll probably blame you for not buying the rear aplique. lol. I have an 06 also, so thanks for the heads up.

Ok guys well I have an 06' purchased in oct 2005. I had the dealer installed spoiler. Well today it was very loose almost falling off the car!!! Took it to the dealer. They pulled off two black stickers on the inside of my liftgate and tons of rust just came out of these two huge bare metal holes! They tried to tell me it isn't rust! YEAH RIGHT! Well I am gonna be making a call to the service dept on this issue. I was also told Scion changed the spoilers after I purchased mine so they are installed differently. Any Help on this subject guys?

I have read that and actully have posted to relpies to that thred previous to this. This is a different spot than on that post though. Mine is RUST THOUGH caused by a dealers drill and nothing applied to the bare metal causing the spoiler to almost fall off on me. I recall that issues is on the welds on the doors in the corners in which one of mine is questionable but nothing for me to be concerned about. A spoiler I paid a ridiculous amount for and had installed by the dealer to cause such rust and loosening that it almost smacks another cars winshield is another story.

Look into some rust converter and have the dealer source the tape and plastic inserts:
