totaly EZ just take your time and go slow. I orderd 2 Cans of Testor's Candy Red Spray Paint from Testors online.

 

Looks good... I have a new set of tails coming so I can crack them open and do the insides. I was never 100% happy with my first attempt (I painted the outside)
I've been trying to find the VHT metal tint...

 

I used VHT on my tails and I got it at summitracing.com. It was around $13 w/shipping, I think.

Does the amber light for the blinker still show thru?

 

I don't know about the OP, but I changed mine to clear to avoid that phenomenon.

 

Yea, I changed all mine to clear when I redded the tails.
Rear blinkers don't need to be amber, they can be red too.

 

u guys think that will look good on a SRP (Salsa Red Pearl for those not in the know)? i wanna, but im not sure if it would be TOO red.......RED

 

^ I think it would be too red... you should either smoke yours or order the 3/4 smoke overlays from bluebat.

EZ-BAKED those tails are RED as all heck! That looks sick, but now I need to see some night pics of em'. My only problem is that the red may clash just a bit with the camo.

 

holy hell those tails just made me crap myself! thats exactly what i want! how did you do that? the edges are darker than the interior... wow btw nice on the tails!

So you used Krylon stained class paint in red instead of VHT Red Metal Tint or Testor's Candy Red Spray Paint as others have done? How did you get that darker red border?

 

Just get the bBist red/clear LED tails to get the same look.
