or can you just get those colors to have that effect?

To lead off, I'm not a CF ninja or anything. In fact, I don't particularly care for the look of it that much so I haven't done much research on it (colored or otherwise). Nonetheless, I've picked up a little bit of info.

Carbon fiber only comes in black, the color of carbon fibers (strange, that...). However, you can tint your carbon fiber for a colored look. Someone on here sprayed his CF engine cover in red. It matches his BCP xB pretty damn nicely, if I may say so myself.

For brighter colors like white, red, silver, orange, or whatever what's described as "orange CF" is really orange kevlar with resin on it. A good example of this can be found on Nilo (XBBOY)'s car (check the featured rides).

They do make different colors of cabon...black, red, blue, silver....

Question...if you powdercoat the black carbon fiber will it look like colored CF?

 

You could always take the part to a body shop and have them scuff the clear and respray it with a kandy....Then it would be any color you want......
