Default Changing the halo color in halo headlights?

I'm totally new here, and should be taking delivery of an 06 xB with Black Sand Pearl. I have been thinking about putting in the dual halo headlights with black housing but I want the halo to light up red instead of clear. I've searched every headlight topic and with no answer so I decided to ask. Is there anyway to do this? Is is just an led that makes it light up? If it is an led, that should be an easy replacement, right?

Anyone?? I take it nobody has asked this yet and nobody has taken these light apart?? What makes the halo ring light up is pretty much all I need to know.

It should be an led. How about you be the first and open them up. ;)

it proably a simple LED. the ring around it has bubbles and stuff to make it light up evenly. i dont think getting to the LED is going to be the hard part. its going to be putting them back together and not having any issues. I want to change mine to green but am afraid of that.

Once you take out the LEDs, the hardest part will be putting them back and splicing them. Could be hard if the LED is really squeezed in there, or if the wiring is all embedded in plastic.

Either buy colored LEDs, or LED condoms (transparent colored sleees). But red's very illegal on the front, as is blue (emergency vehicles only). Could you live with orange? Much more important than being illegal, red lights would confuse other drivers and seem pretty dumb. I'd reconsider the color...

I would only be using the halo's when I'm parked cuz yeah, that'd be stupid to drive with red on the front. Maybe I will just buy the regular white looking halos and rig up a second color sorta like those strobes that will make the halos red.
