Default Custom grill input :)

Well, I'm kind of doing alot of things in a short period of time, but itll come together and look good.

My friend is building me a custom grill, but he is putting a design in it. It is going to be made of very thin steel, and powerdercoated black (I am painting my car black). He is putting fiberglass behind it, so that I can install LEDs/neons and have them shine through the grill. And yes in this area in california its illigal to drive with them on, but I will have a switch for the grill lights.

This is the first design I came up with. I want something very simple, yet catchy. I already decided the theme is going to be music, since I am a musician (bass player). I bet a majority of people will NOT knnow what that means. But it is a bass clef. Good representation of me

If you'd like, you can give me some ideas and draw out something perhaps?

What do you think about the custom grill idea anyway? I think itll be unique and pretty damn awesome...

Not something I would put on my box, but customizing your box to be YOUR box is what it's all about!

I like the idea of anything custom, it shows originality and putting some kind of symbols in that represant you, is awsome. If you could take the symbols above and make them flow more togeher, almost like script on a tattoo they would look great. But do us a favor and resize the pic so it's not so hard to see, better when all seen together, not one symbol at a time. Good luck and take some pics of the final product.

Thanks like i said Ive already decided on the bass clef in the center. I tried designing something with two bass clefs, left and right, but it looked funny. I also had the idea of a regular kind of grill, but inserting emblems across it so it looks like music notation. That was kind of corny though, figured it wouldnt look right.

Feel free to design something! I like simplicity, but something catchy, and I am a bass player :D

I like what you have exactly the way you have it. I understood it immediately - I can read music.

Now if it were me, I'd follow the clef with the notation for the key of B# or C#! Unless you know the pitch of your exhaust.

Haha!

I think the bass clef is a completelly powerful music symbol I'm starting to like my origional design more and more. I was trying to ask my bud to come up with stuff but nothing is really it. I think this week he is going to use his engineering program to draw and print it up full scale.

I'd suggest you make that grill piece out of clear or translucent plexiglass or lexan, then cover it with an opaque vinyl that's used in sign shops. You can put any design you want on there and change it whenever you like. Either cut it yourself, or have a sign shop do the design for you. Light will show through only the openings. It would be the reverse of lighted signs you see almost everywhere.

Thanks for the input, but the reason I haven't done this is mainly because I don't know how much this costs and my friend is doing it for free, besides the cost of the supplies... And I can't really imagine it, I'm not looking for something that looks like a sign I want like a metal grill type thing still... I dont know if you could get something to show me I might take a deeper look into it/ Im doing research on that right now actually...

Basically my idea came from that grill above. But instead of the chrome look it will be gloss black and design will be cut out. Origionally, I had an idea of putting CB as the emblem in the center (my initials)
