Yep. I refuse to take out my OTG spacers with my 504's. No roller handy, no patience for the baseball bat.

Hoping the Cali "Sun Spirits" will look down on me! But as a precaution, a little rust prevention is in order. Better safe than sorry....

And be quiet, Trung!!

Cutting the extra lip will weaken your fenders. And the edge of your fender well can cut in to your rear tires. But if thats what you want them thats what you get.

use touch-up on the bare metal edge, let it dry, then mask the shiny bits off and carefully hit it with a can of undercoating.

You'll be good to go then

i did this too for mine, sanded it down, smooth out the bar metal, rust treated it and then sprayed it with bed liner.

i don't know about him, but i'm getting real fender flares. which mean i will have to cut up about 2 inches into the fender. besides i want to know this. how does cutting out alittle of the fender going to weaken it? it still has it's arch and lip. and also the fender isn't part of the structural support of it. unless you plan to go destruct-O durby, than there is no worries. it won't crumble apart, bend or crease cuzz of daily driven. all the fender does is prevent street splatter from flinging all over the place.

Any cutting or bending of metal on a newish car bothers me just for a "look". There are ways of getting that wheels sticking out the wheelwell without having to carve up your wheelwells. That is unless you plan on owning it for the next 20 years or so then cut away!!!!

You all make me smile. This is still a fun place. Anyway, no worries about anyone else owning this box, it's mine for life.

Rust worries??... In San Diego??... Nah. Besides, there's always Rhino Lining or Rust-O-Leum!! There's actually about a 1/4 inch of the flange left. Didn't trim for looks, the flange was just scraping the rim protector on my new tires. Sounded worse than what it was, but I felt I had to do something. And patience is not my virtue!

Gotta say this post was the best: "if it works then rock on...its not my car so frankly i dont care what happens to the fender." Well said IMO.
