Sorry if this has been discussed before, Im just wondering what is the easiest way to remove the back emblems on my xB. Thanks.

 

a little bit of heat via heat gun or hair dryer, and some fishing line... get the emblem warm.... 3-4 seconds of heat. then use the fishing line to get behind the emblem, and see saw it back and forth through the double sided tape that attaches the emblem to the car.. don't try to "cut" through the adheasive, the fishing line/ dental floss should glide through it with the proper amount of warmth.. in CA, i do mine when it's 85-90+ outside, and i dont use any extra heat... if you park in the sun for an hour or so, it shouldn't be a problem to remove them w/o heat.. use goo gone or any mild adheasive remover to take off any residual adheasive if any is left on the paint. if you use a hair dryer or heat gun, BE CAREFULL NOT TO COOK YOUR PAINT... a few seconds of heat at a time is all you need.

 

(1) apply a 'juice stream' of 3M adhesive/wax remover liquid along top edge of emblem(s)

(2) let soak for a minute or two

(3) take a length of DENTAL FLOSS (plain or mint--your choice), stretch between two hands, and s-l-o-w-l-y work it back-and-forth/up-and-down (HEY don't even go there)

(4) emblem(s) should gradually start to lift away from paint finish; whatever residue remains can then be safely removed with the 3M stuff

(1-b) OPTIONAL: applying heat from a hair dryer before starting warms the adhesive and makes removal much easier

 

A hammer and chisel. Easiest way.

 

I used a blow dryer and some dental floss, it was a _____ getting rid of all the remaining adhesive, but irs done. Sorry for ____ty pic, camera phones suck.

 

I did mine too! Very easy with a little heat and goof off to remove the glue then buff.
