Default Ebay / Halo projector headlight question - updated comment

Just poking around and noticed that I can get a set of black dual halo projectors for like 80 smackaroos, then there will be another set that look basically the same for 200 smackaroos. Is this a classic case of you get what you pay for? Let me know.

****UPDATE***

I ended up ordering the Atomic Street black dual halos. I installed them tonight and they look great. I went around the edges with clear silicone..(had trouble reaching the corners) before I installed. I also put in Silverstar 9006 bulbs. Didn't take very long to tap into the parking lights for the halos and put back together.

I'm a little bummed though. I used my fathers garage and by the time I drove home after installing they were fogged up. I did not take the breather caps off the back. I took them off to see if that would make a difference. I will be really ____ed if this continues considering how cool they look.

Good question Matt. They are probably all the same. I bought mine from zomkspeed for a grand total of $118, they are $160 at bbist.com(don't know if that includes shipping). They are the same Sonar headlights that everyone else has. I was actually surprised by the quality. The plastic was heavy and felt good almost better than the OEM lights. They light up VERY well. I didn't have a chance to hook up the halos before it got dark.

So, are some online company's trying to get more for the same product? That seems strange. Check it out. These are the one's that I am talking about for 80.

Love the look, but will spend the extra $ for quality you know?[/list]

Wasn't hard at all. The whole process took about 15 minutes but the halos aren't hooked up yet. I only used a phillips screwdriver, a small flat screwdriver, and a 10mm socket. Remove the grill. Then pop the center plastic thing from the center of the front cover and remove the bolts from the front cover on the edge of the tire well. Then pull down and slightly out on the edge of the front cover where the bolts were to lean the front cover forward. Then there are just the 4 screws for the lights. For the basics it's just a matter of unplugging the headlight and taking the turn signal socket out of the assembly. Replug and reinstall the socket in the new light and reverse the disassembly of the front end and you are done. I didn't hook up the halos. I'll have to do that later. I'm going to hook mine up to a separate switch in the car instead of the park/turn lamps because I want to control when they are on.

Thanks! Seems easy enough!

Nice, thanks. Did you seal them with anything?

I thought about it but I wasn't patient enough. I wanted them in. If they fog, I'll take them out and seal them.

If you look closley you will notice the more expensive lamps are using clear reflectors iwhile the cheaper ones have the legal amber ones.

It rained today and the right one fogged a little. Seal them before you install them.

mines fogged for the first week. I didn't seal them and after that week, no more fogg... Maybe the heat from the sun solved the problem.

Look at the back of the housing. There should be silver adjustment ***** which help aim the lights.

Look for the silver adjustment screw just below and to the left of the low beam. Mine was off to the left too. I turned the screw counter-clockwise, facing the front of the car, to move the light to the right.
