Default Factory window tint on rs3?

I'm getting my rs3 this coming week and I want get an appointment set up to get the front 2 windows tinted. Does anyone know what % the factory tint is on the back windows? I'm guessing between 10 and 17%.

I have 3M 35% Scotchtint on my front windows and even that doesn't look siginificantly lighter, so I would say the factory tint is something onto the order of 20-25. Be careful how dark you go with, because if the front is darker than the back it's going to look kinda stupid. Also, although no tint is the exact same color as the factory tint (since it's not actually a tint, it's a dye) certain brands seem to look better than others. I went to a tint shop and was lucky enough to encounter a tinter who was willing to put multiple swatches of different tints on my window to find the one that looked the best. Although I never found anything that was perfect, the 3m (non-bronze/non-metallic/non-ceramic) 35% tint seemed to look the best. I would say you'd be better off going with a fairly light tint, but if you have your heart set on dark front windows, you may want to consider adding a light tint to the back ones as well.

This has been discussed thoroughly.

Those that have had the rear glass metered have said it's right at 20%, often just above.

Those that have had theirs done in 20%, like myself, are very pleased with the match.

35% doesn't look bad, but 20% is much closer.

Max, do you have 20% all the way around or just on the fronts and do you have a side pic to share? I have seen your angled pic like it is in your profile and as your avatar, but a whole side view would be great.

I only tinted my fronts, and left the rears as they come stock.

From what I have heard, it is 27% tint in the back.

Also sometimes, aftermarket tint can be differnt shades of black, so that 20% of one is not 20% of the other.
