Default Front End Bra

Did anyonr put a front end bra on? I was told it would crack the paint after a while. Any thoughts?

The general practice is to not let them get wet and then dry out on the car. There is no reason they would crack the paint, but you might fade unevenably. Like vinyl overlays--the paint will fade more where not shaded.

I've always been torn on the front end bra. It keeps your front end from getting dinged up, but at the same time, you can't see your front end.

Vinyl bras do not crack the paint. They do however rub the paint especially at the edges. They can also catch dirt under them and scratch the heck out of the paint. Best front end protection IMO is clear bra, works good.

My friend had a bra on his car for ages.....

didn't look cool at all in my opinion.

It also got dirt and dust etc trapped under it and through constant driving it scrathed the paint under it to hell.

I'm sure if you would clean it like a madman it will be fine.

Try to get the clear overlays that also prevent rock chips etc.

i got the full bra for my xb from colgan customs. i clean underneath it every couple of months. it really protects from rock chips very well. i've had it for 8 months now, i don't see any scratches underneath it, except when i hit a bird, got a small scratch from that, it hit where there was no protection. It's a very top quality bra, it's very sturdy. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to buy a bra for their car. I got the carbon fiber black.

i got the only the hood bra or "front end mask" as scion calls it. Its from colgan customs and i love it. Just be sure to use it sparingly, dont let it get wet and dry when on car

These are not particularly easy to install. Here in Atlanta I use Atlanta Auto Shield. Special equipment is best for an excellent install. www.invisiblemask.com sells clear bra kits and pieces. I used a piece from them for my rear bumper top, it was top drawer. The front end pieces are the same material but due to the contours invloved I recommend professional install. (if you are skilled and careful you might get acceptable results doing a self install, I am skilled and after doing the flat piece on the back bumper...it was easy...i still decided to pay my pro here $200 to install my bumper and lip). One of your local car dealers (high end dealers are more likely to know these people) might be able to recommend an installer in your area.

I also have the Colgan. Wish I would have gotten it sooner tho cause I have some prior chips. I use blue tape on certain areas before putting it on and never run it in the rain. Only use it on long trips to and from shows mostly.
Will get clearbra tho if I ever get the bumper painted.

here in hawaii it rains whenever the hell it wants, so i keep my bra on all the time. i don't really care about the paint anymore. it's already got scratches and chips all over it, and my brother slammed his door on his xa into my car, and now i got a lil bit of limited edition on my car too.......so now i just don't care. I get a scratch a day and just as long as the car starts up in the morning i'm good.
