Default Gas Door won't Open..Please Help!

My gas door to my 05 xB wont open, I pull the lever and I can see it moving in and out and it wont budge, what is going on?

How do I fix it?

The little metal tab that the plastic pin catches i probably bent out too much.

Try having a friend pull while you work the lever. Otherwise use something like a library or blockbuster card to wedge it out while someone pulls the lever. Kinda like opening a door with the credit card trick...

Oh, you said it won't open. I think most have a spring on the hinge to open it once released via the pin, make sure that's there and not mangled

It is just a piece of bent spring steel,Try lubeing up the hinge and do your doors, hatch and strikes while you are at it.
