HID Kit problem with the high beams
Hi, i just received the oznium HID kit for my xB, and i nstalled em this morning. when i turn on the headlights the HID bulbs light up fine, but when i turn on the high beams, the halogen bulbs just flicker repeatedly and then go out. what did i do wrong? i have the 2-1 splice cable used for the negative from the hid and the negative from the high beam into the pale yellow terminal on the stock wiring harness. the hid positive to the green terminal, and the high beam positive to the bright yellow terminal.
so when i turn on the brights the HIDs turn off like they are supposed to, but the high beams flash like a strobe for a few seconds and then go out and if i try to switch back to low beams the HIDs do NOT fire back up. I have to click the headlights all the way to off, then back on and the HIDs come on then.
ALSO, when i am in standard lo-beam mode the High-beam symbol is lit on the dash! going back from high to low beam mode the light is still on in the dash. please help!

well thats not always the case, The highbeam indicator functions under a load, if the resistance is too high or too low, the lamp will come on.
you said you have the lights connected to the sides of the plug? and the ground at the top of the 3 prong? have you attempted to isolate the 2 grounds to avoid feedback?

to make it work, I had to instead plug it in green with black, black with green, and unplug the yellow. Took me a long time to figure that out!
Using this method, the High-beam symbol will not lit on the dash, but you will totaly lost the high-beam funtion, if you turn on the high-beam switch, the HID will go out with out flicking.

That has to work, otherwise you have an electrical gremlin somewhere else, or you have an incorrectly wired harness, use a test light to verify the harness is correct.

a wireharness directly from the battery may fix the problem
being unfamiliar with xB... what type of low beam bulbs u guys use?
please read up on here for more information. Do not listen to aftermarket companies as they are sales people, not techies. their job is to sell it to u and after that provide poor tech support. http://faqlight.carpassion.info/headlamp-harness.html

just follow the diagram, power is split between the two bulbs, hook them both together and one ground get connected to the black/white wire and the other is connected to the black/yellow wire, it grounds itself thru the switch, just connect a test light on the +battery side and touch it to the black wires to find out which one works the low beams and then touch the other black wire to see if it does the high beams, its really not that difficult

No, I Just connect the low-beam positive to low-beam positive, and negative(ground) to negative, and unplug the high-beam positive.
