Default How to adjust hood fitment?

So I have a VIS CF Hood. I like the look, but the fitment is kind of bad. I had the bodyshop at the dealer I purchased my hood and car from install it. But even after having them play with it a few times, the hood still pokes up some on the driver's side. It annoys me because when I drive, I can see the hood begin to lift up with the wind.

SO, how can I adjust the hood to make it fit better? As I said before, I didnt install it so I dont where to begin. Thanks.

There are a number of places that can be adjusted concerning the hood. The bolts that bolt the hood to the hinges have a little play (play can be increased by enlarging the holes in the hinges) that allows a little front/rear and s slight amount of side to side adjustment. More front/rear and side/side adjustment can be had at the hinge to body bolts as well. You can gain some tip in the hood (raise or lower the rear) by shimming under the hinge. Shims under the rear bolt will raise the rear and tip the front downward slightly...shims under both bolts tends to raise the whole hood. The adjustment of the front is mostly adjustment of the hood latch and the 2 rubber screw in hood bumpers. What I do here is remove the latch from the car close the hood. Adjust everything for the best possible fit, bolts, hood bumpers etc. Once the hood is positioned best as it can be then I install the latch to match the location of the latch bar on the hood. Ensure that as you close the hood the latch doesn't pull it sideways. Also once the side to side position of the latch is determined make sure the latch is positioned down far enough that the hood doesn't move up and down if you pull up and down on the front with it latched, but not so far as to have to slam the hood to make it latch either. Also check and be sure that it is actually latching not just the secondary safety catch catching (best to have the grille out for all this of course so you can see what is happening easily). You may find that your aftermarket hood just doesn't fit well:/ I hope that is not the case good luck.

Yea, I'm bringing it back, but I'm having the same issue with my VIS hood. It sits great towards the back, but the front of it sits a good 1/4" higher than the fender. I have it latching tight (by using the hood bumpers) so I'm not worried about it opening unexpectedly, but it's more aesthetic than anything else.

So thanks Ted!
