Don't know about skipping while in use. Mine vibrated when the bass hit. I also removed it because...
1. It scratches the glass over time.
2. Rear window never got dirty enough to use the wiper.
3. It was fugly
4. To shed un wanted weight.

I wish we had a choice whether or not we wanted it. They could have drilled out the hole for the ones that did want it.

Damn. I remember reading in the not so distant past a vague reference to "flipping the white piece (gear)", so went and did this earlier. Got it all put together, got in the car and proceeded to wipe the right side of the hatch.

So I took it back apart, took the gear out and flipped it over, and noticed the contacts are in the gear, so flipping it basically did nothing. So, I moved the arm to the opposite hole and slung it back together, taking pics as I went, so I could write a proper tech for it. Good thing I did a search first.
