I had a Question about H.I.D.S in the Sonar headlights??????
I know this questions been asked probably a million times. But, i just want to know for sure if i get hids that it wont melt or do anything to do harness or headlights, even if the headlights say don't put each hids in them. I'm planning to put either 6k or 8k but i wanted to ask people who had them in their car which of them has the best light output on the road and which one u prefer. Me personally i am planning on getting 8k. Please get back at me, if they are ok to but in the sonar headlights and which people prefer having either 6k or 8k??????????

well, if your concerend about the best light output, then 8k is out of the question. get the 6k, if you want the best light output you could possibly get then go for 4300k. i dont have any experience with hid's in aftermarket projectors so i cant help you out with your first question, but it seems like alot of people do it without problems.

didn't do your poll but HIDs wont hurt your sonars. i have 10 k in mine and it's bright but not as bright like how i want it so i'll go with 6 or 8 k. but probably 6. HIDs operate at a way lower temp than halogens. try test it out for yourself by putting only one HID in and leave the other halogen. then put your hand in front of the beam with the light on and feel the difference.

IMO, the reason for the warning on the Sonar's isn't because of heat from light output, but the too-small wires that make up the Sonar's conversion harness. Build a new harness with smaller gauge wire and you should be fine. Plugs and sockets are available at just about any FLAPS (friendly local auto parts store).
The combo of new wires, a relay and Silverstars would probably make a decent difference too.
