Default i need help with my new tail lights...

so i bought these new helix tail lights on ebay (i know, serves me right) and i have two problems. first, the stock bulbs don't fit into the housing of the new lights. and second, the grooves that allow the stock harnesses to lock into place don't match up.

any suggestions?

Did you previously have TYC tails? Because you need the stock harness for the Helix lights. TYC tails come with a seperate harness and all new bulbs/sockets.

I installed the old "smoked" Helix lights on my wife's xB with no problems once I got the 10mm deep socket. I purchased them from another member on this site.

The only "modification" I did was using the stock rubber weather stripping cut to fit rather than reusing the weather stripping that was already on the Helix tails.

ahhhh that would explain why they don't fit. i do have TYC tails now, but i got them installed from the dealer so i thought they were the stock harness...

is it hard to change the harness from TYC to stock so i can fit the heix lights? thanks in advance!

I just had the exact same problem. Your best bet is to pick up a set of stock tail lights with the factory bulbs and what not. either here in the classifieds, or on ebay. I got my pair for about $30 shipped, and when you get them in you pull out the bulbs from the stockers, put them in your new tails, unplug the TYC harness, and plug the stock harness into the back of one of the stock plugs now on the helix tails, and you are good to go
