Japanese import bumpers...
Anyone have any contact information for importers of JDM parts?
I would like to get my hands on some JDM bumpers so I can delete my body kit. I understand that you have to switch to JDM bumpers to run the deleted body kit because US bumpers have the larger crash style bumpers. Is this so?
I have heard of someone saying you can remove the crash syle components from the US bumpers to get kits to fit. Is this true as well?

...in my case we removed the crash beam to fit the jdm bumper...our USDM spec is different and much thicker then the JDM version...its a bit thick to cut or trim down if you were to try and go around removing it..
Do you by chance, have pics of the process or finished outcome? Would love to see it.
If I understand you correct, you are running full JDM bumpers or did you just cut the heavier sections out of the USDM crash bumper?
Was this to fit a specific (JDM) bodykit? Or was it to delete the existing bodykit off of the vehicle.
Thanks so much for your help.
PS--you can PM me if it would be easier for you.

mattyrattypoo,
when you say the JDM bumpers....do you mean you have to remove the crash beam/supports to fit the JDM bumper covers or is there a separate metal bumper underneath that has to go in as well?
Do you have pics? I love the cleaner look of EURO/JDM bumpers and hate the excessive overhang of the USDM crash bumpers and extra weight.

Ok behind every cars bumper is a metal beam. For the Scion xB, this beam has to measure up to certain US regulations. The Beams were beefed up so inturn, the bumpers had to be modified from the JDM counterpart to accomidated them. The bB (NCP30) does have smaller bumpers and does have a crash beam in the front and rear but are not as heavy duty as the US xB. I didn't want to take the effort in finding NCP30 crach beams and mounts so I had to remove mine to let the JDM bumpers fit.
YOu can see in the pic of how close the fogs are to the edge of the bumper compared to the US bumper. As for the rear, its just shorter over all. Also the bumpers are JDM and not Euro just so you know.

Nice box! the grille looks awesome with that kit. I ordered by jdm bumpers from carson toyota (www.newscionparts.com). Just give them a call and they can get them for you. I believe they ran around $1000 for both shipped.
