Default JDM fuel lid cover

Anyone know how to install the JDM fuel lid cover?? I bought it from Carson Toyota aka www.newscionparts.com and I thought it would be easy to install w/o looking at the instructions. Idk where to start and the included instructions don't help since they are written in Japanese.

Thanks in advance.

yeah that TRD cover is a biotch to install. Take it to a local tuner shop in the area to have it installed. Save yourself the headache like I did.

What your suppose to do is take the thin wire and make it into a U shape and then wrap tape around it, having the sticky side facing 1 side. Then go to the OEM gas lid and take off the wire ring that holds the rubber around the gas cap. You then need to feel around inside where the OEM rivets are and place the tape wrapped U shaped wire in the middle of the rivet. 1 person should hold the wire wile the other person drill-out the OEM rivet. The purpose of the wire wrapped in tape is to catch the drilled out rivet so that it dosn't rattle around in the body. After you do all 4, you can then take the rivet in the new gas lid which is in the box.

Hope that helps a little.

Is this the semi-clear black one that I keep seeing on ebay for around 135? If so could you please post pics when the install is done? Love to see it.

I think it looks better removed. Gives the lid a nice clean look...

i think personally thats why people buy it is for that marking. But thats just choice I guess. I would see it as more points at shows "for sure real deal" TRD and not a knock off.

I have never heard of a knock off for this part. The good thing is the sticker is not that big, but in my opinion the sticker makes the lid look cheap.

I can see why you would keep the sticker if they make knock offs. Here in Indiana we don't see alot of these knock off parts. Do you have a web address for the knock off lid? I would like to see if there is any differences and the price.
