Default Lip kit - what to do with fenderwell covers?

I purchased a front lip for my Xb and did a test fit before I painted it. I noticed that there are no "fingers" on the lower lip to attach to and support the black plastic fenderwell covers and underbody cover. For you that have done this... what did you do to support the covers? Or, did you remove them? I feel that removing them is going to lead to more noise and a big mess in the engine compartment. A short test drive confirmed that the loose covers flap in the wind and will tear up in short order. My kit came with virtually no instructions and I've been unable to get further information.

I had the same problem. I made sure they were bolted together on the center stud, then I used zip ties and tied them up to the lower part of the radiator support. You cant see the ties, and they hold up well

Yeah if you don't do something with them you are going to have a problem with them hitting the tires and shredding. I cut the front part out and have no problem now. Unless you take the tire off make sure you are careful using a utility knife to cut them out. It's easy just a tight fit to get yur arm in there.
