Default makeing windshiled squirters flash with alarm

What would I need to attach to the alarm indicator wiring in my xb, that would make my (soon to get)lighted windshield squirters flash(at the same time it flashes) when my alarm is on? I have seen it done on other cars just wondering how to do it.

Let me play devil's advocate... why do you want the lighted washer nozzles... they're really super bad. Maybe on a '92 Civic, but not on a box.

I just like lighted things, and I would never have them on when driving only when parked and used as alarm indicator lights, other wise you really can't tell the difference when they are not on except they are clear.

Fair enough... I would think if you tap into the turn signal wire, that would do it. Although they would also flash when you turned your indicator on while driving. If you wired them to a switch, that would allow you to turn them off while driving... I dunno. To me, it sounds like more trouble than it's worth.

yeah I was thinking there is some kind of switch that you could hook up to the alarm wire that would sense when there is current going through it and switch the squirter lights on and off. I guess I should go to a electronics store, maybe they would know

All you have to do is tap the wires into the LED for the alarm that is mounted on the dash,I have seen it done with mirror marker lights really draws your attension when it is dark out.

I know this is 2 years old now but I am still inserested in doing this,
wouldn't drawing power from that little LED be to much for the circuit?

No. The draw from two LEDs is barely noticeable.

My thought is that they are probably designed to pull of the 12v of the car and I doubt the power going to that one led is 12v , in fact I opened up the alarm module and there is a resistor in there. I wonder if there is enough power. :\ maybe I am just over thinking it, just hate to fry my alarm module

Looks like it's time to wire up a relay to make sure you don't fry it.
