they have this place called a "Parts Department" inside the dealerships where they sell the Scions. It's usually near the "Service Department". You can get a new, most likely in-stock hood there. More than $100 less then $200.

"Parts Department"? Come on now, you made that up, didn't you?! WTF is this "Parts Department" you speak of.....what, are you going to say that one could pick up oil filters, floormats, and fan belts there as well. Have some decency and stop making up stuff. The poor guy needs help and if you won't offer anything constructive and useful, why post at all.

Parts Department......nerve of some people.

It pays for him to ask around. A lot of people have removed the stock hood for a CF hood and would gladly sell it for less than our local dealer charges for an OEM hood.

For instance, what does YOUR local dealer want for a regular, plain xB muffler?
OURS charges just under three hundred dollars. I will price a hood tomorrow and
let's see how "under 200" it is. Maybe. Maybe not by a lot!

anyway, sarcasm wasn't owed to our Miami brother. His deductable will not kick in to buy a hood. He's got to shop.
So he does.
He's not a moron to ask SL for help. He gets a kick in the nuts for his asking. It seems like we put out chills to elevate ourselves to clever status.
I'm the only clever one here. No one much likes me for it even though I'm nice.
Sarcasm does not pay.. ,,,so I've learned myself from my inappropriate sarcasm in the past

end lecture. Now for appropriate sarcasm:
what, are you going to say that one could pick up oil filters, floormats, and fan belts there as well.
OK, while I'm pricing the hood I will next price a fan belt for xB and let you know the results. I'll tell the parts guy. "YOU know.. the FAN BELT. What are you, an idiot?" And then I'll ask if he has Prince Albert in a can. And hang up without giving him a chance to answer. Will cancel caller ID before placing this Parts Inquiry, fer shure!

Have you priced a hood for the xb, it is not cheap, it comes prepainted as well. I was looking for one to mod a while back, and I think it was about $600, and they would have to order it, not in stock at all.

I recenlty joined Scion Life to participate in the Scion community. I thought we are all enthusiasts, shouldn't we be helping each other rather than antagonizing?

I, in no way deserve or appreciate the bashing for my request. I happened to have suffered damage to my vehicle and was looking for parts, preferably from someone who has replaced a factory hood with a CF one. Please, if you don't have anything constructive to add to this post, don't reply. Things are tough enough out here without having to be made fun of for a question.

Thanks again for your time.......

I have a stock TCM hood that I am willing to let go. I had it on the car for about 7 months before I replaced it with a CF one. Lets say $100+ shipping? Let me know what you think.

For those who responded, thanks.....

I am however looking for something a little closer to me. Preferably in the South Florida area.

What, is your dealer hooked on crack? 1. No, they don't ome prepainted from the dealer - UNLESS - they have their own paint shop that they're sending them through - which is a rip off. 2. The hood comes in a stapled box and comes in black e-coat/primer. I should know. I've bought 4 of them in the last 6 months. Paid $138 for each one (which is 'my' cost as a business) - figure to add about 20% for retail.

$600 my ___. "Not in stock" - what kinda hicktown dealership is that? BOTH dealers in this town have every body part IN STOCK for an xB .. and this isn't a big city.

and VEELO - aint no one 'bashing' you .. and for everyone else crying that - quit being idiots. Read sarcasm for what it is you oversensitive little girls.

Veelo, the whole point is to just go to the dealer and buy a new one in a box. They're cheap. That $600 B.S. is just that. B.S.. *tip* on buying new, the oem hoods have a tendency to get the front bottom corners bent while in the OEM box, take it out at the counter and check it (I buy them all the time).
