Question Need a little help....

I was removing my rear license plate today and one of the heads of the screws snapped off. Its not sticking out far enough to get it with pliers. My question is can you remove the cover on the inside of the back hatch and get it that way? Or will I have to drill and tap it?

take a small circular grinder to the top of the broke screw and cut a small slit in it. (enough for a flathead screwdriver to fit) then use the flathead and un screw it.

If that doesn't work, just drill em through.

Yeah... the inside of the hatch is pretty much useless space

If that fails, drill into it and use a tap out to get it out. Although the pressure might damage the hatch, ummm. Yeah, dunno about that then.

But it would be under the license plate, so if puch really comes to shove, its not like he couldnt cover it up as long as he primed over the bare metal

just go to walmart and get the special drill bits for stripped and broken screws and when youre done, either add it to your collection of tools or take it back :-)
