Default need rear bumper ideas

stock

with underspoiler

underspoiler

I have had ongoing issues with my dealer about my bodykit. I finally got to the right person and depending on the cost he is going to work with me to get an aftermarket one piece rear bumper on my car. I love the front bumper I have and the side skirts but hate the two piece design of the rear. So what are the recommendations for a rear bumper. It needs to be a nice fitting bumper that matches the boxiness of the JP America kit I have. Their rear underspoiler is like the stock piece only 2 inches longer.

The other option would be some how getting a sponsorship for a whole new body kit. I could then do a custom paint job that I am working on.

Any ideas???

Interior of car for those who have not seen it:

What I am thinking is if I could get a damaged rear one piece bumper I could blend the JP rear underspoiler and the top part of the bumper that matches the stock one. I would in essence be doing what you are saying of blending the stock polyurethane bumper with the rear fiberglass underspoler. Only difference is it would be all Fiberglass and would be built to look like one piece removing the body line from the bumper but keeping the eliptical area even with the tail pipe outlet.

I do not think blending urethane and fiberglass will last long on a daily driver here in Michigan but what do I know. Maybe I need to start my own bodykit made out of composites for the xb. They would be stronger, lightweight and would not have to worry about speedbumps or potholes. I could be like everyone else out there and make the composite kit off of mine. Only kidding if I make a kit it is going to be my own design. HMMMMMM. If I only had a job so I could spend the time looking for work on developing this idea.

The sub enclosure is a custom made enclosure I beleive. There is no name on it and the wire is direct from speaker to amp. If it was store fab work it would have connectors on it and smoother fiberglass on the bottom.

Looks good! Maybe cut the upper part of the bumper lip off and re-do the fiberglass once you get it to fit flush and not sticking out

I am 95% certain that I will be making a custom bumper for it. I am hoping to find a damaged cheap or better yet free fiberglass rear bumper and then combine it with the underspoiler to make my own one of a kind bumper that flows right.

Anyone out there have a damaged rear fiberglass XB bumper they would like to send me. Any companies out there have one returned damaged in manufacturing or shipping?????

Please help I would like to finally have my car back to 100%, Not having a job all year has not been fun. To top it all off last night someone egged my car.

If not for my neighbor running off his porch yelling at them who knows what else would have happened his wife frantically told me they had a crowbar.

Like I said in PM I am unsure of what I would like to do. A rear lip is like only $200 new.

As for who makes it as I mentioned abouve it is the JP Visage kit. I recommend something else. This one is too common and poor customer service.

Normally, molding Poly and f/g is a bad thing on the front of the car, but, I think doing it on the rear bumper will be ok (but yes, i know what you mean about your roads...yuck!)

Just make sure to glue them together with 3M 'Fuzer', Duramix, or some other floating TPO repair glue. After that, chopped glass/mini-fiber for the blend. Only use mud as a top skim coat.

I think if you do it this way, you will be 100% ok!

Well my front bumper is now a mess and I need to replace everything.......is the a polyurethane full kit out there for the xb. I would like full bumpers preferably. I am ready to rip the JP kit off and smash it.

Any help?

How about anyone near MI have a full stock set up. front bumper, side skirts, rear bumper both lips??? If the price is right I may be interested. I am talking to the dealership this week about what they are going to do for me.

One last thing for the people who mentioned they are molding the JP rear underspoiler to the sock bumper how are you doing this?

Default Rear Bumper Idea-------rear fog lights/courtesy lights

Hi! This is just a repost from another thread. A good idea.

Thanks for the reply guys. Here is what I meant by courtesy lights...... In EU, they call it rear fog lights, bec their fog can really be bad, and they use halogen bulbs for it.

In asia(Japan,Sngpre,Phil,HK etc) we call it courtesy lights, we are only allowed to use regular bulbs. Hence, to show courtesy so as not to blind the car behind you, and fog is not as bad compared to UK.

The reason why I brought this up. . . .
I saw the web site, wrecked scions, and being rear ended in an XB may not be safe for people at the back specially for kids. So installing this may lessen the chances of it occuring.
And...
Most cars here that are available in Asia and EU have this option and I do not see it here, so it made me think it is illegal. And also, I wanted to clear it up, because I'm new here in the US and this forum is the best place to ask. (I did not see it in the CA DMV manual

Rear courtesy lights(rear fog lights in EU) can add visibility for drivers behind you in adverse weather conditions and can alert sleepy drivers or fast moving vehicles behind you.

A good project for everyone, not only to look Unique and add the JDM appeal is the added safety it provides.

I plan to place this:
http://www.protech-uk.co.uk/cut_in_fog.jpg

so the rear of my XB can have a look like this (picture is a right hand drive)
http://icbmotorsport.com/New/EDM_JDM...Right_Side.jpg

to further explain what these lights are, look here:
http://www.conti-online.com/generato...lights_en.html

If they made day time driving lights, they should also consider this because there are also drivers behind you.

Last question, where can I purchase original switches for the Xb to switch this thing on and off?

Thanks and sorry for the long post.

some pictures:
a C5 in japan, i thing it is too bright and way up and near the brake lights:
http://www.cat-co-ltd.co.jp/hashimoto/rfogps.JPG

this guys is asking the same question, some has two but I think one light is better.
