The Valor tip looks identical, is made of stainless steel to fit the xB pipe, has good hardware, and costs $14 more:

I installed the same tip about a week ago. My bolts stripped, too, so I got rid of the bracet pieces that came with the tip and just took some coarse thread screws I had left over from my stock bumper, and put them in instead. So far, it hasn't fallen off. lol But man, was that stock tip a pain to get off! I thought it was welded, so I ended up breaking it off piece by piece. Only took me two frickin' hours... But there was no way I could leave that stock tip on with the gigantic hole in my Fab bumper.

Why not bolt it on where you want it, drive it to someone who knows how to weld, and have them tack weld it in place?

Tack welds aren't permanent, but you'll have better results than three crappy bolts.

I went to autozone and got the round one because they didn't have the oval one but now I don't know if I want to put it on because I'm scared it might look rice.

I would just wait and check back at auto zone. they're bound to get some more in before too long. If you have an Advance Auto Parts near you, check there. I don't think they carry 3A Racing, but they've got some other nice ones.

Yeah I looked up an Advanced and I think the closest one was 1000+ miles away. Someone did say they got their tip there though so I think they might carry 3A.

You're not up for a road trip? lol Any decent auto parts store should have some assortment of tips. If you want I can try to get one and ship it to ya for whatever it costs me. Just PM me if you're interested.

Default I second that emotion...

I agree with the earlier post. How the 'F' do you get the stock one off? I saw two small tabs that looked like they needed to be bent up out of a coresponding hole in the pipe, but what else? Grabbed it with a vise grip and NOTHING!!! Any ideas?

I guess the "right" way is to tap from the back with a hammer and screwdriver or whatever, and wiggle it back and forth, and it'll come off eventually. I thought it was welded, so I ended up spending two hours breaking it off piece-by-piece.

It is a pain to get the original one off. I just bent the tabs up then put the screwdriver at the back edge and pryed all the way around then it should come off by just wiggling it around. It's not easy but it's not welded either just keep working at it. It took me awhile to get it off but it will come off.

Put tbe 3A tip on this morning ... the stock one not too hard to get off. Bend back the tabs, and stick the tip of a flat-head screw driver under the edges and turn. Will bend of the metal, go all the way around. It will come off easily. The tip looks good but stripped the screws as well. I believe it is the metal of the tip that strips as well, could see little pieces coming off. Used better screws and it seems to be secure - for the moment. Going to have a friend tack weld it on for added piece of mind. The tip is rather large and fairly heavy so if it were to come off in traffic the person behind you could get a flat tire of some other damage if they were to hit it. With my luck, might even cause a pile up wreck or something. (i don't want to worry about it all the time so gonna just tack weld that sucker) it looks good so willing to spend the extra time on it.
