Default New Scion, couple questions

Hello everyone. Bought my 2006 Scion today. Used w/ 30k miles but I already absolutely love it.
Couple questions about my car (tried search but didnt find much or just limited amount of information.)

1. Aux port behind the shifter. Is this for plugging in headphones to listen to the radio? I guess I could always just try plugging some in to see.

2. There is a switch to the left side of the steering wheel in one of the little compartments. Black switch that seems to do nothing. Is this for the fog lights (if i had them)?

3. Headlights seem to point downward more than what I'm used to. Is it easy to adjust them?

4. What's my best option for the white lights like a BMW has? Sorry for being so ignorant about them, but I'm a newbie to this. After doing some searching I've noticed that people can get "halo" type or else "full HID" but i'm still unclear about the differences.

I would appreciate any help! These cars are great!

Welcome aboard. The only thing I can comment on is the black switch. The fog light switch would be below the center panel. Maybe the previous owner had some lights under the car. He may have removed them before selling.

The aux port behind the shifter is for plugging in an mp3 player or somesuch, so you can listen to your portable tunes through the stereo.

The AUX port is for like another device such as an MP3 player, you get a headphone to headphone jack and it plays your ipod or whatever other kind of mp3 player you have. Just select AUX on the stereo(assuming you have the stock one, I'm not sure whether an aftermarket one would be wired to it).

The headlights are easy to adjust. To get lights like BMW's you have to get HID's. Halo's are the ring around the lights that light up. HID's are the actual light. You can buy the halo style headlights on ebay or you can get them at bBist.com.HID's are being sold all day long on the sponsored forums.

wow great information, thanks!! So do I need a special plug to connect the mp3 player to the Aux port ? It looks like the same exact port that is on that mp3 player (so i'd need a double ended male cable?)
How much should I expect to get HID lights? Can I just put the bulbs in or do I have to get a new housing completely? thanks so much for the responses.

You can put HIDs in the stock headlights but they will not look good or even. Your best bet will be to get a new set of the halo headlights (Sonar are the best) and then a compatible HID kit.

And yes, all you need for the AUX is a male-male cable.
