A while back, i purchased this grill on ebay:

and the metal grate is rusted...
I spray-painted it black, and it looks ok, but the box looked really good without it.
Sooo... out of fear of hydrolocking with my perrin intake that is on the way, do you guys think that a sheet of plexiglass screwed to the back of the grill minus the mesh would be a practical solution?

 

Should be fine..... The grillcraft grille has something very similar to keep water and other items from reaching the engine bay.

 

Bear in mind, the stock grille is a solid piece. You won't have any problems.

 

id try and get a clear plastic so that way it still has the same look..if you go black might look solid...ive allways really liked the way that grill looks

 

yea you should be fine as my modellista speed grill has a thin plexi shield on the backside of it.
