Default Question about Vented Hoods

im debating of buying a vented hood for my xB and have a question.

with the vents, obviously, only having a mesh screen over them, does it cause any harm if snow and rain get inside of them? because i dont have a shop, or any friends with one, i would prefer to not have to switch out my hood with the seasons or the weather.

if it matters, this is the hood in question. thanks! :D

You will be fine, I have had vented hoods on nearly all of my previous cars and I too live in Indiana.

I've always wondered about that myself and decided against taking the risk (living in Florida and all).

I always removed my CF hood in the winter as it becomes very easy to crack when I lived in North Dakota.

Unfotunately the are out of this hood in carbon, not sure about fiberglass. I was thinking about getting this hood until i decided i'll do a custom carbon lift-hood for my box. The design is similar to the Do-luck 350z lift hood but thinking about doing it a little higher. This is the hood im doing for the 350z forum. Very subtle. I dont really dig the vented hoods. Just dont want water or anything to fall in..

What about taking your car through a car wash? there is this place I go to that basically covers the entire car in white foamy soap then rubs it off with shammies.. will getting mass amounts of water/soap hurt anything?

When we designed the hood, we kept the "water" issue in mind. You can pour water into the vents and nothing will happen. We did not place the vents where anything "water sensitive" will be damaged. A lot of thought and hours of R&D went into making this hood so rest assured when you purchase bBist, you are getting nothing but the best.

I bought the last vented CF hood that Steve had last week... Steve was explaining to me that yes there has been a shortage of CF. I hear it’s cause of the war. They have to use it for planes and such. The hood still isn’t hear but looking forward to it, but sucks cause when it does get here I wont be able to put it on being that some dumb@$$ rear ended my car like 2days ago...
