why does everyone want to get rid of the rear windshield wiper?

i can remember with all the cars that ive had most of them didnt have a rear wiper and i also thought that it would be so useful. i would love to have it. Im buying my xb in october and i cant wait. it just makes it nicer in my opinion. and there wont be dusty streaks where the blade wipes if you keep it clean.

anyways thats just my opinion

The back end is a dead spot for wind. If your going to use the wiper much, plan on using the washer too which is a sad little dribble and is then going to run down the car. It's also a regional thing, but here in the Bay Area, even with the wet winter we had, it never rained hard enough for the wiper to make may than two passes without drying out and rubbing. And there's no intermittent setting so you're constantly having to switch it off and on. I think the back end looks cleaner without it and I won't use it, so why leave it? Rain-X works better, IMO

If you want it, keep it, but if you don't, that's an option too. Try it once you get yours and see what you think.
