Default removed the rear wiper.. have question

so i put in the 1 inch metal plug like the tech article said.. and put some silicon stuff around it but i felt like it wasnt completly sealed ( i worry sometimes ) so i put about 8 pieces of duct tape over the back of the plug.. my question is.. if for some reason the silicon lets water get past.. will all that duct tape stop it?

and also if it leaks a tiny bit will it hurt anything back there?

1. It won't get past the silicon

2. If it does the duct tape will stop it for maybe a few minutes

3. If some leaks, it will cause rust eventually.

If you are that worried about it, put more silicon.

agreed... the silicone will stop all moisture provided you made a good seal....
if in doubt add another bead of silicone... duct tape won't do $hiznet to stop water from getting in.
