Default Rolling the Fender

What is ment by rolling the fender. I see you have to do this with some installations of lambo doors. Not sure if I will ahve to do this or not but if so I would liek to know exactly what it means and how to do it.

Rolling the fenders to most people means rolling the lip inside the wheel opening flat with the outer shape. This gives 1/2 to 3/4 of more space from the tire to the fender. Plus if contact is made it is not as likely to cut the tire.

As far as rolling the fender for the lambo doors they probably mean to flatten the part of the fender you see when you open the door so there is room for the over sized hinge.

here i took a few pix for u..

this is a NON rolled part of a fender.. like the way it looks all around(rear)

here u can see how u slowly 'smash it or roll it' towards the outside
so u dont have that 1/2" of metal sticking out..

here u can see how the wheels will clear a lot better..

here it is competely rolled flat...

what i did was use a torch and a hammer and u get the picture..
I DID use a fender rolling gadget thingy that bolts up the wheelhub..
but that didn't wanna roll as well as a hammer can..

Ok thanks guys. So I think what I have to do is basically unroll the fender first. So it is a flat piece of metal in a sense. Then I am going to RE-roll it into the shape I want.

Basically bend it back to the shape I want. is this correct?

NO you want to bend the lip in the fender well farther till it is flat agenst it self.

This may help you.... This is whare the "Rolling " comes from. Rolling the fender used to be done by puting a baseball bat between the tire and the fender then you drive the car forward slowly and let the bat get pinched between the two. the bat will roll with the tire compressing the fender lip flat agenst the inside of the fender. When you were done you had a flared fender with a rolled lip.

What yo are doing to the fender lip is bending it from a 90 degree bend to a 180 degree bend.

Lets just hope I don't know have to do this cause I am still a bit confused. Like I thin I understandby your wording but when looking at the picks its hard to see exactly what is happening and going on. I guess if I need to I can ask someone at a car shop possibly to show me. Not sure why this is hard for me to understand
