I'm not trying to be a jerk here, but I can almost assure you that you will have these spots again in the future. Almost ALL white cars show fallout, and no matter where you live it can happen. Like I previously posted, I've had three white cars in a row, and they all show the fallout the most.

I'm still trying to figure out how you thought a rock chip was a rust hole???? And this fallout stuff is above the surface of the paint and should be felt with your fingernail. I get it all the time on my white work van. Also how can this be covered under warranty?
This is maintance stuff not defective anything. How does a dealer stay in business doing free detail jobs???

Regular maintenance doesn't include using acid. I personally have owned three cars since new and four used cars...this kind of damage to the paint is completely new to me, can't say any of my cars or motorcycles have had the finish of the paint degrade so quickly, and a few of those rides received much less attention to detail as the box currently receives, seriously much much less.

The car was maintained at more frequent intervals than is recommended by Toyota...there's not much else to be said at this point. A five month old car with less than 5000 miles shouldn't need any kind of maintenance beyond an oil change and a fluid level inspection.

I would love to know what kind of "acid" they used. And although I'm not saying it didn't happen, I have never heard of such a thing.

What do you mean by "degrade?" If you're talking about the rust flakes, it is not degradation, it is a normal part of owning a white car. My wife's silver Civic has them too, but they're not nearly as noticable because of the color. I don't want to assume anything, but is this your first white car?

Maybe the "acid" ate the hole in the roof! LMAO
