I have a Yakima rack on the roof of my 1st generation xB and I found 2 metal loopholes under the back to tie down the back end of a sea kayak, but I can't find such things on the front end. What do all you canoeists and sea kayakers do about that?

Do you have a tow hook "cut out" in the bumper? You can remove it with a credit card (recommended), butter knife, or screw driver.

Then buy a tow hook. I know the gen1 tC's had them.... and the tow hook was included if I remember 8 years back. I could be wrong.

The tow hook cut out happens to be in the back, but I did find out the tow hook comes with the spare tire. As for the front, I lied on the ground and poked around a little more and found a ring hole on the chassis near the oil filter area.
