Default Side Marker question

Sorry if this isn't the correct section...

Anyway, i'm wanting to shave off the rear side markers as well as the side turn signals. Has anyone done this to their Xb before? I think i've seen someone shave off their side turn signals, but not the rear side markers...

Anyway, i just want to get an idea of how difficult it will be. I don't see how it would be too difficult, however i want to make sure before i jump into it.

If anyone has done it, what are the steps you took?

Thanks guys,

Cya

Um, this is not an easy thing to do. When you remove the little lights it leaves a big hole about 1/2 inch square or more in the fender/quarter. You would need to patch that hole, puddy it smooth, then paint the whole damn panel for it to match. Definately not a DIY kind of thing.

For projects like this, I use a MIG welder, some sheet metal to match the thickness of the panel that I'm working on, and a copper backplate (welds won't stick to it). This is for smaller jobs. For larger ones, you'd drill some holes and use panel holders and flange the panels for fit. After welding, hammering the welds, filling, sanding and painting the entire panel, you're done.

The reason I'm telling you all this... is because I doubt you really want to get into it this deep.

another option. I like the fact that they are still functional.

to stay legal you need the real reflector/light. since the rear taillight doesnt "wrap" around without a reflector or illumination.

the front side marker isnt necessary due to the fact your vehicle has to exceed a certain length to need a side marker.

oh and a side note. dont break the rear side marker/reflector. its a sealed LED which cost 42 bucks new :-O
