Spoiler Thought !
Ok
So basically I want this.

Good price I think, looks durable. The problem is I don't wanna drill holes in my baby, nah uh, no way. I know the bbist Wing requires no drilling, but upon further inspection I dont think it would look right on a "slightly" modded xb.
So I got to thinking! (after searching the forums about the subject mind you) I'm contemplating on just buying the 3M automotive tape, applying it evenly, and sticking it on the car. It doesnt sound safe, but hell, If the big ol' fab wing stays on with two clips and the tape, why would this tiny CF oem style one hold up with the tape? CF is lighter to begin with right?
Sounds really unsafe at first thought, but I'm thinking it might work. Any thoughts?

Hm
I stumbled across this.
"New 3M Automotive Attachment Tape 06394 is an OEM-approved, 90-mil-thick, gray acrylic foam tape designed for dependable installation of a wide variety of exterior parts, such as running boards, ground effects, claddings, rocker panel moldings, spoilers, wheel flares and other large, heavy automotive trim components. This tape is approved for many of the most demanding applications where bonding surface contours may be poorly matched or where thick foam is required for highest performance. Available in a 1/2" wide by 10-yard roll, this tape is 3M's thickest OEM-approved tape available for repair and replacement applications and is the same tape

I'm now thinking all systems go!

I'm thinking that if the stuff is THAT strong, it's going to damage or pull your paint off if you ever decide to take the spoiler off, which is probably worse than having to drill the holes to mount the spoiler. I dunno for sure though, I'm not very experienced in that area.
I would say to go for it. A fresh new idea is what customizing is all about.
If there was no modification needed for an aftermarket peice, Pep Boys would be selling them to every 3rd customer.
I would take a trip to a local body shop and ask someone about installing with 3m tape. Minor parts put on by tape are no big deal, but the wing is taking a descent amount of stress while driving on the expressway.

I'm thinking it will work. Keep in mind that this isnt ordinary automotive tape, it's made for spoilers, ground effects, and body kits. I did some research and came across a charger forum where they were using the tape for their hoodscoops, and the hoodscoops were staying on at 130+ MPH!
I ordered the tape last night from the only dealer I could find (ebay) .
The spoiler is gonna have to wait untill I have the funds :] . I have the link saved of the ebay dealer dealing the tape if anyone needs it. I'll be the guinea pig! Look at it that way.

go for it, i am intense has an awesome quality wing, seemless, and soo beautiful
then 3m tape will work, but the two holes required are very small and do not hinder any structures within thw xB's constustion

I went ahead and ordered the "VS" spoiler from bbist instead. It's bigger and holds on with DS tape and clips.
I am 80% positive the tape will work if you use the prep solvent and do everything right.
I have the double sided tape if you want it Ill sell it to you cheaper then you'd get it off the net for.
