Default This sucks!!!!!!

I read all these horror stories of some of you replacing your windshields and I say I hope that doesn't happen to me! After almost 4 years with my Box...BOOM! It needs replacing...

I'm driving on the highway with the wife and daughter, listening to my iPod Touch and this loud noise comes from the front of my Box! My instinct is to close my eyes and all I feel is stuff hitting my face. I open my eyes and I see my windshield broken and small pieces of glass everywhere!

I don't what it was but there were several cars and trucks in front of me in several lanes. We were all doing like 60-70 mph! Something got kicked up by someone in front of me but I don't know what. I'll just wait to get it replaced in the spring time cause I don't drive it in the winter...

WOW!!! you know, i've often thought about whipping change out the sun roof of my tc when some @$$hole is tailgating me...glad i actually did it because that is serious damage...or wait, that quarter is just there to show how big the impact was isn't it?

anyway, just thinking about it, i'd get that replaced sooner rather then later. if some little furry critter gets in there, they can make your box a happy home.

my grandfather left his honda accord with us when he moved back to greece for a while, and some mouse started living in it, and not only that, they stored dog food they found in the garage in the a/c vents, so when driving around and making turns, you'd hear kibble and bits rolling around inside the dash.

alright, just thought i'd share, imagine what a pain it would be to have to go and vacuum out all the food those little bastards stash away if they get in! also, they could nibble on your wiring and such, which would really suck.

Maybe one of you will know. I have Allstate, so you think they will cover it or atleast part of it?

if you don't have glass coverage than they will cover it under comprehensive and comp claims don't raise rates either. of course if you have an unusually high deductible than you can be paying out of pocket. should always have comp at 250 or lower since it cost nearly nothing to have that low.

You are right, it could have been worse, like bouncing off of the hood instead and leaving a nice dent on it and then hitting the windshield!

Wow, that sucks.

As far as the claim, I know when I was with Geico, they sent safelite out. If they could repair, it was free, if the window needed replacement it was 50 bucks.

That's definitely a replacement. But it might not cost a whole lot.

The curse of the box. I went through two windshields in a 3 month period. Both times it was debris falling out of a truck in front of me. Now I try to avoid getting stuck behind semi's and work trucks. Fortunately in Florida, the insurance company has to fix or replace the window for free. I think it's a state law.

An old friend of mine used to have a VW bus and he had a tire fall off of a pick up in front of him. He said the tire bounced once on the highway and crashed straight through his windshield on the passenger side!

Just saw this on the main page.

I feel bad for you also, but it isn't the box thats cursed, it's just people who haven't had windshield issues getting what is coming, lol.

I've always had beaters before my tc, never a problem. First night of owning my tc I got a rock chip right in front of my face, eye level on the windshield.

Could be much worse. I had a fridge fall off the back of a truck I was following about 40ft behind doing about 45 and I swerved to avoid it, barely missing the fridge but the handle broke off and totally demolished the ladys windshield behind me. Looked like someone threw a baseball bat at it. It was one of those old school HD fridges too.
