Did you just stick the 3M adhesive of the bB metal bumper guard or xB PVC guard directly onto the bumper (after it was cleaned), or did you apply the soapy water solution onto the bumper first and then do the plastic squeegy method?

I noticed on TrdSparks(dot)com that their PDF instructions for installing the xB bumper applique involves wetting the bumper first with a soapy solution, then apply the guard onto the still-wet bumper.

Call me a lazy bastard if you want but... =)

... Just looking for some tips and experience with this for now.

I used the soapy solution technique. Turned out perfect.

 

I used the soap method, it is a little forgiving if you don't get it right. The soap keeps it from sticking right away, giving a little more time to adjust it.

 

Thanks, did one of you guys have the metal bumper too? I'm wondering if it's easy to squeegy the metal bumper?
