Time for another fogging thread
You know you love them. This one is a two parter.
1. My OEM foglight fogged up, has anyone else had and / or fixed this problem? I couldn't find any threads on the subject, just the two dozen or so headlight fogging topics.
2. Speaking of headlights fogging...I have the e-bay dual halo projector sonars (no brow, no LED). I sealed both of them around the edges with clear silicone after first purchasing them. One must have sealed up because it has never fogged, but the other does pretty badly. My question is, is it really necessary to bake and seperate the light before re-sealing, or can I just let the moisture evaporate out and then seal around the edges? Is one method better then the other?
Thanks for the help. As if those two issues weren't enough I also have a pair of retro tail lights, the 3 circle traffic light looking ones. One of my reverse bulbs got some moisture in there as well. That isn't very noticable though so I am not as concerned. Ah I hate fogging.

With your fog lights , check the o-ring seal on the bulb. They dont always seal good , you can use some electric connector grease on the and get them to seal better. you can pick some up at radio shack, fry's electronics and the like.
I recently painted my pair of Sonars to match the body color and aferwards, I did a reseal. One fogs, one does not. I did not bake either light. The difference I believe is that with one light, I ran a bead of silicone around the edge BEFORE I put them back together, the other I put back together first and then ran silicone over the top. The one that fogs was the one where I put the silicone on after assembly. To get them seperated and put back together again, I ran a heat gun around the edge until the material was pliable, just use the low setting. Wagner makes a cheap one that is used to strip wallpaper and paint.
Also, I sealed the plug the halo power wires run through on both of them.
