the hood was 202.. but I think I would work with the slightly higher number just below the hood.. also, we need more input from the others to create a reasonable average..

I will try to work on it soon i have just been busy with the military i have not had time LOL!!! Hell I still havnt gone by the shop lately LOL!!! But i am going to ask my friend if he can let me play at the shop this coming up weekend after this one LOL because he is the manager LOL!!!!

Was going to go to the shop this weekend but had to get out of Corpus Christi because of the hericane Ike LOL!!!! Damn ____y as wind and rain LOL!!! Will try to get to the shop week sorry it has been a while but i have the temps of the hood and under the hood so i will be able to do some test and crap LOL!!!

I tried a plastic that i thought would hold up to the sun heat and the engine bay heat and it got flemsy on me LOL!!! I am going to try another type of plastic and see if it can hold the sun heat and the engine bay heat LOL!!! I am trying to test all the plastic that i have at the shop to see what one has the highest heat temp rating LOL!!!

It died. Its one of those kinds of things, good idea but just too hard/time consuming/expensive (take your pick) to do. Or maybe im wrong and it will happen.

Why test your plastics, just look at the manufacturer's spec sheets and they will tell you the melting point of their material and whether or not it is UV safe.

Stop wasting time and money call your plastic vendor.

i have a friend who is rag topping his 06 xb. it has been in the shop for about 2 months getting a new paint job and the ragtop, i guess its harder than it looks to get one to fit and seal and store well. ill see if i can get pics when its done

he is putting uv reflective plastic windows in his ragtop i dont know where he is gettin the plastic from but you might wanna check out somethin like that for your hoods
