Trouble Finding Wiper Hole Plug
superfreestyle: no rubber
Max: no I mean bigger (head (flange) not barrel) does that make sense? clarify ....if it were smaller than the hole it would fall through. not to mention that there is no rubber seal included plus metal to metal does not seal well.
If someone does this mod with the lock I used they will see that the lock assembly fits in the hole the but since the hole is not a lock hole there is slop, the amount of slop translates into a small gap if not lined up correctly and the head (flange) of the lock is rounded and does not "seal" to the body well. So, unless you want water sitting at the bottom of your hatch door and possibly causing rust damage I would either 1. seal form the inside. 2. make a rubber gasket. 3. find a hatch door lock form another manufacture maybe an SUV of some sort that has a wider ring and rubber seal (hey that's a good idea, saw one today on a Nissan or something gotta look into that) boy it helps to think out loud sometimes. But I would imagine that would be a few more bucks. anyway hope this helps.

Crystal clear now, thanks for the info.
I would think an O-ring would do the trick.

The kit I have was GM and it came with clear rubber washer that seals between to lock "flange" and the trunk panel... with the clips you don't need anything else. It's pretty tight, not going anywhere
I've seen some locks on other cars that are a bit more low profile, but this one was the first on I saw on Ebay that looked like it might work...

Max, I like the lock look but would worry about someone popping it out to break in.
I put a chrome plug in mine then covered it with the small center emblem from a
phone dial hub cap. I just trimed around the Scion logo and it was a perfect fit.

^^^naahhht so much. that doens't do it for me, sorry jeff. way too many 'little' things going on back there for my taste. I think it has something to do with debadging it and then rebadging it with something off center and unreadable. my 2c
Also, I think the minute someone tried to pop the lock, they would realize that it's faux.
