I cant afford the hids yet. there are so many blue, and hyper white lights out there. what kind do you guys think are the best?

 

Best to see the road with? Stock...

Which ones look the coolest? It's all up to you.

I run Silverstars... Not yellow like stock, don't look ricer blue, and still give good light output on the road.

i have luminics bulbs in mine i love the look Pure Blue 6,000k and in my fogs JDM YELLOW 2,500k
i like them over the silverstars... just my opinion

 

I just assumed the aftermarket blue or white ones were brighter then stock, so they aren't?

 

in the sun shining bright in the oem headlights

and in projectors

 

Silverstars here also. I have them in the fogs to. Not as bright as stock but much whiter. Plus when you buy them from wallyworld if they burn out just bring them back.

Generally speaking, the blue-ish tinting on those bulbs diminish the light output. You can buy aftermarket bulbs that run at a higher wattage, (80w - 120w) but those bulbs can get too hot and fry your harness.

The best 55w bulbs you can use are high quality, plain old clear stock bulbs. If you want more of a white/blue look, PIAA and Sylvania Silverstars are probably the best. If you want "blue" there's a million to choose from, but don't expect to see the road better. If you're saving up to go HID, just save your money and simply avoid aftermarket bulbs altogether.

i have luminics JDM yellow bulbs. they are super bright. so bright that i've had many people flash their brights at me on two way roads.

 

55w/60w bulbs will NOT fry your stock harness, correct?

However some tC guys have had fried harnesses from 55w bulbs. Apparently the stock tC headlight is 51w. That's why even Luminics sells upgraded hranesses (when their bulbs are only 55w)

I did forget to mention the option of a harness upgrade... But I've seen those get fried too. :shrug:

btw don't order from luminics. they dont really.. operate anymore.

Heads are 9003 and fogs are 9006. Check ebay. I bought my heads and fogs from the same guy and paid $45 shipped for both. Hell of a deal.
