OK, I would love to see some up-close pics and hear what people have to say about running a CF hood all the time. How does it hold up to the sandblasting environment of our front ends? Does it chip like paint? Looks better or worse than paint when hit by a rock? Do you run a bra? 3M Bra? Are you running hood pins? Any other thoughts or concerns?
I'm interested in this mod, but most the peeps I've seen with a CF hood put it on only for show and run the blue tape protection, etc. If (I mean when) I get one, I'd probably want to run it all the time but don't want it to end up looking bad and don't want to have to spend lots of extra time worrying/caring for it. So what are your experiences? Please include pics too, thanks in advance.

along with those things he mentioned, do you have any problems with easy denting. My friends got a Civic hatch whose carbon fiber hood DENTS when it rains hard. i was hoping this isnt common with all. but yea... what he said ^

Mine is fine now too. No more blue tape. No clear bra yet, but the treks out to the South Bay w/o the blue tape hasn't brought the nicks, dents and scratches that are on my OEM hood.
Had the oem style for a year and no problems at all.. I drive the hetic highway everyday too. Now I have the bbist vented and will use that as my everyday hood. Will probably throw on a clear bra in time.
i drive about 20 miles a day round trip to/from work. i've had my cf hood on now for about 6 months and have no problems with it. i don't have any hood pins or car bra whatsoever ether. the hood is oem style too.

I have ran a CF hood on my subaru for almost 4 years now. The key to making it last is blocking the UV. Sure most places say it has a UV coating on it already, but dont belive them. You need to use a wax on the hood that blocks UV, or what I used to do was after I washed it, (ok this is going to sound wierd) but kinda buff in some sun screen into it. But other than the UV issues, mine has help up to the winter sand/salt. No rock chips or anyhting like that.
