Hey Mark, I run Steve's hood everyday with no problems. (shameless plug for bbist.com) The only reason I run blue tape to shows is so it doesn't get dirty. The finish has held up very well.

 

Do you guys park your cars outside? Biggest concern I would have is with fading / yellowing / hazing.

I have ran a CF hood on my subaru for almost 4 years now. The key to making it last is blocking the UV. Sure most places say it has a UV coating on it already, but dont belive them. You need to use a wax on the hood that blocks UV, or what I used to do was after I washed it, (ok this is going to sound wierd) but kinda buff in some sun screen into it. But other than the UV issues, mine has help up to the winter sand/salt. No rock chips or anyhting like that.

 

my hood is pretty darn good
