Hey guys, I need some info on how much u guys pay there in US for windshield replacement. They wanna charge me here in Canada $500 at any place I called, friggin ridicolous, but then again I dunno, maybe it is that much since we don't have scion brand here. How much do u guys pay in the states for replacement ? and Can u recommend a place close to the border ? I'm in Toronto, so Michigan, NY close to border is fine.

I read somewhere there's oem replacement and some other cheaper replacement, someone can lemme know the difference ?
Any pointers to watch out for something when changing the windshield ?

That sounds about right.

We tend to pay more for the parts up here because of all the shipping, taxes, and duties at the boarder.

Plus the dealerships know they can mark up the price because after all its not like we have much choice.

Last summer i had to replace the driver side door lock motor. At the dealship in the us it go's for between 90 to 125 bucks.

I paid 295 plus tax.

It sucks. But if you wont a unique car you got to pay for it.

BTW where abouts do you live?

I am in Thunder Bay Ontario, i have the only Scion here. I replaced my windshield for $200 Canadian. Try apple auto glass and ask for PBG glass i believe. Good luck

lol I just bought a 1st gen scion and the guy had an extra windshield he threw in, it's factory toyota glass still in the wrapper, I was wanting to get rid of it to get it out of my shed so while I was out the other day stopped by a local glass shop and asked if they would like to buy it from me, they said no but looked up what they would have to pay for factory glass from toyota and it was approx 750, friggin crazy. Ill probably post it on the classified forum as soon as I get enough posts to get over the 50 posts required.
